About Abortion

This is a big subject when it comes to both sides, obviously we know where each side stands.
but I would like to touch on the subject a bit.

Let me start by stating that I do not support abortion at all! I do not believe in it.
I believe a human being is a human being at the moment of conception.

Now, this is a tough one. On one side you have Demolibs who are pro choice, the other conservatives/Republicans who are pro life. My problem is this, many young women are using abortion as birth control. that's right I said it! and its true.
The left screams "a Woman should have the right to choose", and I agree. And follow me with this. I believe the right to choose starts way before she chooses to have an abortion.
It starts with the right to choose which man she is going to date.
The right to choose which man she will have intercourse with.
the right to choose which type of birth control she may want to use.
The right to choose red, white or blue condoms for her partner to wear.

And don't forget the Man, he has the right to choose what store he buys the condom's in.
And the right to choose safe sex over unprotected sex.

Now when it comes to abortion and whether it should be legal, it becomes more for me anyway about an individuals liberty. A woman should have the right to choose her future. I would agree with that. I'm not one for taking away any Americans liberty. But...........
and this is a BIG but................

I in no way, shape, matter or form believe that ANY abortion program, clinic or anything of the sort should be funded by tax payer money! In other words it should NOT be government funded. Now I will not bend on this issue. I shouldn't have to.
If a young couple has an unplanned pregnancy and they want to choose abortion, they should have the right to go and find a privately owned facility and have the procedure done at their own expense. That's right.
Why should tax payer money be spent on this? there is no argument to be had here.
YOU made the mistake! YOU pay for it!

The ruling on abortion was made in the supreme court, and it never should have made it there. It should now, and always be handled at the state level. So if you in New York and abortion isn't available, Hop in your car and drive to Jersey where it is. Or whatever state it might be available.

Now you will hear the arguments like what about "rape" and And "child pregnancy" do to molestation. On "rape", That's what family and friends are for. On Children, Family again, and only in the case where the family can in no way afford it should the government at the STATE level provide assistance. Then of course prosecution of the offender and a law suit to cover damages.

I am furious that Barack Obama put aside money in the "Stimulus bill" that will help fund abortion clinics and you should be too.

I am truly not sorry at all if you don't agree with me. But why should i help fund something that I find morally wrong? that answer is I shouldn't have to.

  1. Ok I do see your point, yes if you make the choice to have sex, and have unprotected sex, then you must pay the consequences and not use it as a form of birth control .....BUT although I dont believe in abortion for myself (hence the 4 kids...lol) I do believe in pro-choice. For instance...rape. If god forbid I was raped, and found out I was pregnant, I really dont know if I would be able to carry that baby to term and that is where "choice" comes in. As for incest...I feel the same way. Yes there is family, but what about the individual dealing with this pregnancy. There are other situations where I believe a woman should have a choice but those 2 are the more serious reasons. Do I think that we as tax payers should be funding these clinics....no BUT and yes I have another but, do we want young girls going to "dirty" doctors to do the procedure? Absolutly not.

Your right...this is a tough topic and there are so many beliefs and values and each individual is different.

  2. I believe in choice, very strongly but I agree that abortion should not be used as birth control and the only way to make sure that message is getting out there is through education and parents are at the very top of this list of educators. Parents need to talk to their kids about EVERYTHING, including SEX. I also think that if a woman is considering abortion, she should talk it over with whomever impregnated her. Of course if sex was freely talked about and wasn't such a taboo subject people would know more about condoms, birth control and abstinence.
I completely disagree that those seeking abortions should rely on friends and families. Do you really think a young girl is going to tell family members regardless if she was raped or not? Have you not read stories from parents who lost girls that were afraid to tell their parents and lived in those parent rights states? Those girls were so scared to disappoint their parents that they sought out back alley abortions and were mutilated and infected, dying horrible deaths. I have heard stories from nurses back when abortion was illegal and the horrible things that women did to themselves in order to abort. Clothes hanger abortions, back alley 'doctors' using dirty instruments and woman throwing themselves off roofs or down stairs. Horrible.
I absolutely think that option should be available to rape victims and I don't care if I as a tax payer, pays for it. No woman should have to experience rape and no woman should be forced to have a child that she doesn't (nor wanted) to have. The resentment and abuse that could manifest against that child from the woman would be much worse and more scarring then abortion.

Those clinics aren't just for abortions; they are actual Family Planning and Female Health Clinics that educate woman on their bodies, sex, birth control, abstinence and abortion. They don't just make appointments, abort and move on to the next client. They try to make sure the woman realizes all of her options; they never push abortion first, it's always the last actual choice they give.

I was not aware that abortions were funded by taxpayers, I was always educated that the taxpayers paid for the family planning education, gyno checks, tests, birth control education, abstinence education but not actual abortions.

  3. All good points from both of you. and thank you for reading and commenting. I also have heard horror stories. and i fell for them all.
but these fears of telling and disappointing their parents are a family problem. Parents everywhere should be explaining to their children that we are all human and we all make mistakes. and to never be afraid to come to them for help. If a child feels that way, then the parents have failed. parents raise children, not communities. Like I said, Abortion laws should be dealt with at the state level. if your state passes laws against abortion, then you and your family and expected father can go across state lines to a stae that allows it. Out of your pocket. again I stated that in cases of rape, and incest again, Family first! people are looking to the government before family? there is something fundamentally wrong with that. Last resort, STATE level government assistance for parties that DID NOT have a choice in their pregnancy, such as rape or incest.
